easyJet adds two new routes to south-west France for summer 2027

easyJet will launch two new routes to south-west France next summer, aimed at holidaymakers from the UK and France.

The new routes are based at the popular holiday resort of La Rochelle – flights to Nice will begin on April 9th, with services operating twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. The journey will take around one hour and 35 minutes, with one-way tickets starting at €45 per person.

The route will give passengers a direct connection between La Rochelle and the French Riviera, catering to holidaymakers, people visiting friends and family, and business travellers attending conferences and events in Nice.

Flights to Southampton in the UK will start on May 29th, also operating twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The flight will take around one hour and 20 minutes, with one-way fares starting at €50 per person.

The new route will complement easyJet’s existing services from La Rochelle to Bristol, London Gatwick and Manchester.

Seven destinations from La Rochelle

The two new routes will bring easyJet’s network from La Rochelle-Île de Ré Airport to seven destinations: Bristol, Geneva, London Gatwick, Lyon, Manchester, Nice and Southampton.

The airline’s summer 2027 schedule will include two domestic routes and five international connections.

“These two new routes from La Rochelle reflect our belief that regional connectivity is an essential driver of the attractiveness and economic development of local areas,” said Reginald Otten, easyJet’s deputy managing director for France.

As well as being a popular destination in its own right, La Rochelle also offers a convenient airport for people visiting other parts of south-west France such as Charente and Charente-Maritime.

The new routes come as La Rochelle-Île de Ré Airport continues to grow its passenger numbers. The airport handled 303,669 passengers in 2025, setting a traffic record for the third consecutive year. Passenger numbers rose by three percent compared with 2024, despite a two percent drop in commercial aircraft movements. The airport served 12 routes during the year.

The airport’s 2027 schedule is also expected to expand with the arrival of Jet2, which plans to launch services from Birmingham and Manchester, strengthening connections between La Rochelle and the UK.
