A man has been arrested after another man died in a crash with a parked vehicle in Leicester.
Leicestershire Police said a grey Volkswagen Golf crashed in Chesterfield Road just before 05:49 GMT on Saturday.
The man – one of two occupants in the Golf – sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was discharged after treatment, the force added.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
Chesterfield Road was closed between Staveley Road and East Park Road, including all side streets, but has since reopened.
Detectives are appealing for information and would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or saw the vehicle beforehand.
