Arkansas Democrats have quite the journey ahead of them leading up to the 2026 midterm elections. After a year of historic expansion and mobilizing, the Young Democrats of Arkansas are headed to Fayetteville for their annual fall conference. The midterms are right around the corner and the Young Democrats are using this opportunity to gather their members for a weekend of training, dialogue and action.
The Young Democrats of Arkansas is the largest youth-led civic organization in the state, and they have spent the past two years growing and expanding in order to make a real difference in the upcoming midterm elections. The growth the organization has experienced is astronomical especially on college campuses after Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders showed her support for Club USA chapters in every high school in Arkansas.
“We are proud to have extended our reach to every public 4-year college and university in the state while steadily expanding our presence at community colleges and graduate schools,” Young Democrats of Arkansas Chair of Colleges Zayd Kelley said.
Young Democrats of Arkansas President Billy Cook is proud to convene members back in his home in Fayetteville. “For the first time in seven years, the Young Democrats of Arkansas will host our annual conference in Fayetteville. We look forward to gathering young progressives from across the state on the Hill for a whole weekend of trainings and direct action to elect Democrats in the most competitive races in Northwest Arkansas.” He continued, “Young people have a future to win in Fayetteville and everywhere in The Natural State.”
The conference, happening October 23-25, will be almost completely free for every Democrat under the age of 36 in the state of Arkansas. The Young Democrats rely on donations and support from generous sponsors to provide hotel rooms, food, gas reimbursements and T-shirts for everyone in attendance. In addition to their usual business, they will be putting in some campaign work for state legislative candidates Rep. Diana Gonzales-Worthen, Jamie Atkinson and Rey Hernandez.
Young Democrat member and Conference Committee Chair Eli Clardy said to expect hard work and a good time. “This will truly be the best of politics, a weekend of positivity, community, and most of all, fighting for a better Arkansas for all our citizens.”
If you are an Arkansas Democrat under the age of 36 and want to attend this amazing weekend, you can register here.
