An 18-year-old woman who died after a traffic collision was a “beautiful human being, on the inside and the outside”, her family has said.
Esme Heaton-Biggs was driving a white Volkswagen Polo which collided with a white Mercedes on Bloxham Road in Banbury, Oxfordshire on Saturday evening. She died later in hospital.
In a tribute statement, her family said: “The world got suddenly dimmer as one of the brightest and most unique lights left us too soon.”
Brian Mclaren, 36, appeared in court earlier charged with offences including causing death by dangerous driving. He was remanded to appear at Oxford Crown Court on 6 November.
The family tribute, issued through Thames Valley Police said: “Esme Elizabeth Heaton-Biggs was a funny, kind, stubborn, witty and beautiful human being, on the inside and the outside.
“Loved by family and friends alike, a much loved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and cousin.
“The tragic loss of Esme leaves a profoundly large hole in the hearts of so many for so many different reasons, and she has been tragically taken from all of us far too soon.
“Esme has barely just begun her adult life, going on holidays and nights out with her friends, and making plans with everyone who ever wanted to make plans, so she could live the fullest and most fulfilling life possible.”
The family thanked residents of Easington and Banbury, as well as fire, ambulance, police and staff at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
