It could have been a big misunderstanding, but considering how Donald Trump and his White House have treated the press, and that the TV press pool just stood up to Trump and blacked him out for days at the White House after he tried to ban CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, there might be no such thing as a coincidence.
The White House is still playing games by banning reporters from Air Force One, so the battle between the free press and the administration is not over.
Trump economic advisor Peter Navarro stepped up to the microphones in the White House driveway to speak to reporters, but the TV press pool camera wasn’t turned on, and for some reason, the person running the camera would not turn it on.
C-SPAN was there and picked up Navarro on the phone saying, “So, this shithead with the pool camera won’t turn on the camera. What’s the deal with that?”

This is just a guess, but Navarro and other White House officials might have an easier time getting in front of live cameras if they were not trying to destroy the First Amendment every single day.
Once the cameras were turned on, Navarro did have something to say about cutting social programs.
