Motorists on Interstate 79 north of Bridgeport Monday morning, August 31, may have experienced traffic delays as the result of an accident that took place just prior to 8 a.m., according to officials.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident on I-79 around 7:50 a.m. yesterday. The accident took place near mile marker 155.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, both vehicles involved in the wreck were traveling northbound before crossing into the southbound lanes. Two individuals were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.
Officials with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office said motorists faced minor delays because of the accident. First responders required additional time after the transports to clear the scene.
