Saudi Arabia’s defence ministry on Thursday proposed the launch of a 14-nation maritime security coalition covering the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Participating countries would include Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Sudan and Djibouti.
