Asian Cadet Cup to be held in Chennai
The Asian Cadet Cup, a major international fencing championship featuring young athletes from across the continent, will be held in Chennai from November 20-23.
The tournament will feature more than 500 athletes, coaches, officials and technical personnel from over 30 countries. The competitions will be held across three fencing weapons — Epee, Foil, and Sabre.
The championship is being organised by the Fencing Association of India under the aegis of the Asian Fencing Confederation, along with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Sports Authority of India and the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu.
“This event will provide our young fencers and athletes from across Asia with valuable international exposure and help create a strong pathway towards future Asian Games, World Championships and Olympic success,” FAI secretary general Rajeev Mehta said in a release.

India returns to defend its Blind Cricket Asia Cup crown after 10 years
The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) on Saturday named a probable squad of 24 players for the Indian men’s blind cricket team, as the country gears up to begin its title defence at the second Men’s Asia Cup for the Blind to be held in Dhaka from November 13.
The Asia Cup returns after a 10-year gap, following a delay caused by logistical constraints.
India enters the tournament as the defending champion and title holder of the inaugural edition, having beaten Pakistan in the final at Kochi in 2016.
