Glenn Powers, who graduated from Randolph High School in 1970, was identified through forensic genetic genealogy, according to Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey. The technique combines DNA sequencing with family tree research, utilizing public databases and records.

The grave in which Powers was found was discovered on March 21, 1991, in a wooded area near 270 Quarry Street in Quincy, which is outside of Boston. His cause of death was blunt force trauma, and the case is considered a homicide.

“In this case, we are committed to searching for Glenn’s killer or killers and holding them accountable. We are appealing to the public for help. Someone knows what happened to Glenn or knows information that may help to identify who is responsible for his murder,” Morrissey said in a statement.
