FROM THE WEST VIRGINIA STATE POLICE
On Monday, July 13, 2026, members of the West Virginia State Police Kingwood Detachment responded to Big Bear Lake Camplands in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, following a report that a suspect had carried an unresponsive juvenile to a vehicle before leaving the area.
The Pennsylvania State Police subsequently intercepted the vehicle and located the juvenile, who appeared to have sustained severe physical injuries. The juvenile was transported by medical helicopter to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
The suspect, Lisa Lynn Miller, 60, of Dawson, PA, has been charged in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Endangering the Welfare of Children – Parent/Guardian. Bail was denied.
Members of the West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Response Team (CSRT) responded to assist with the investigation.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
