Mohammed Shami was not part of the Bengal playing XI against Services in the Ranji Trophy 2026-27 round 2 match being played at the Airforce Complex Ground Palam in New Delhi on Sunday.
Sportstar understands Shami trained with the Bengal team on Saturday. Bengal coach Laxmi Ratan Shukla on Sunday clarified saying the fast bowler was just rested and that there’s no fitness issue.
In the last match against Delhi, Shami picked five wickets, including a four-fer, against Delhi in the opening match of the Ranji Trophy season.
He has been replaced by his younger brother Mohammed Kaif in the playing XI.
