Rest of India captain Rishabh Pant was absent as his side took the field in the fourth innings to defend 278 against Jammu and Kashmir in the Irani Cup on Sunday.
Pant, who scored 10 off 36 balls in the first innings batting at five, unusually came to bat at number eight in the third innings before getting out for 8 off 18 balls.
Pant is down with fever, with Uttar Pradesh’s Aryan Juyal keeping wickets in his place at the moment. With only J & K’s chase to go, its unlikely that Pant will take any further part in the contest.
