Before the Clarksburg Splash Zone closes for the season, local dogs will have a chance to enjoy the pool.

The United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties and Clarksburg City Parks will host Drool at the Pool on Sunday, August 16, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Splash Zone. The event gives dogs exclusive access to the pool for an afternoon of swimming, splashing, and socializing before the facility is drained for the year.

Admission is $10 per dog, and each dog must be accompanied by an adult handler. Dogs may bring one additional human guest for a $5 donation. Children ages 12 and older are welcome, with one child permitted per adult.

To help make check-in quick and easy, attendees are encouraged to register in advance. Pre-registering allows owners to complete required paperwork and payment ahead of time, helping their dogs get into the pool faster and spend less time waiting in line on event day.

While Drool at the Pool is a fun way for pet owners and their four legged friends to enjoy the final days of summer, it is also a fundraiser for the United Way of Harrison and Doddridge Counties. All proceeds from the event will support the organization’s Annual Campaign, which funds programs and initiatives that improve health, education, and financial stability throughout Harrison and Doddridge Counties.

“We love partnering with Clarksburg City Parks on this event because it’s something the community genuinely enjoys,” said Kim Drummond, Fundraising and Community Development Coordinator for United Way HDC. “People get to bring their dogs out for a fun afternoon, and at the same time they’re helping support our Annual Campaign. It’s a simple, fun way to give back locally.”

For safety reasons, the event is designed specifically for dogs. Human attendees may enter the water to assist their pets but are not permitted to swim.

The event is weather permitting, and friendly dogs of all sizes are welcome.
