Downtown Clarksburg was filled with excitement Tuesday morning as hundreds of area residents waited their turn to shop Cornerstone Candy. Located at the corner of West Main and South Third Streets, the candy shop held its grand opening and ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The former Merchant Bank Building was purchased by Richard and Kathy Swiger and since then, they have been busy designing, planning and purchasing just the right equipment to bring Richard’s vision to life.

The store features a walk-in candy vault, a variety of made-on-site chocolates, nostalgic candies, ice cream, and an old-fashioned soda fountain.
