WDTV reported that one person was flown to the hospital on Saturday evening following a reported explosion in Taylor County, causing a multi-crew response. The Bridgeport Fire Department was among those first responders.
According to Harrison-Taylor 911 officials, multiple emergency crews responded to a call of a personal injury accident from a possible explosion on Sandy Creek Road in Grafton at approximately 6:15 P.M. on Saturday.
Information is extremely limited at this time. However, emergency officials did confirm that one person was transported to the local hospital by HealthNet to treat severe injuries.
Information on the cause of the explosion and on the status of the person injured has not been released at this time.
Crews from the West Virginia State Police of Grafton, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Grafton Fire Department, Bridgeport Fire Department, Philippi Fire Department, Stonewood Fire Department, Taylor County EMS, Flemington EMS, Belington EMS, KAMP Ambulance, and HealthNet all responded to the scene.
